Artist Statement:
I’m a scribe that records for Nature with each work of art that I create. Recording a universal language into lines, color, shape, texture….a transforming task to be sure for the observer to savor.
Artist Bio:
The early influences that shaped Mary’s art pursuit, were largely her family. Her passion for creating began by observing her older brother, Rob, also a painter and college art student. He has proven to be her life long mentor. As a young girl, Mary became active in her community arts by creating promotional materials and set designing. Her art world expanded when she attended the University of Illinois summer art events. She later achieved a degree in art education and later became the art curriculum director for Stratton Academy of the Arts in Illinois.
Mary also coordinated the art interest group the Artists of Marm, opened her own gallery, Marm Studio Gallery and has shown her work internationally.
