Lynn Peters

The daughter of an art teacher and an engineer, Lynn Peters grew up in a home where people cut, glued, sewed, built, knit, and carved. But it wasn’t until after she retired and moved to Green Bay that she began investing time in art.

She uses a technique often called “line and wash.” She begins with ink and adds watercolor, always trying to maintain the transparency of the paint and sometimes a bit of whimsy.

Peters was the artist chosen for the Town of Ledgeview’s inaugural public art project. She painted four murals on the surface of a bike trail, an undertaking she describes as “not for the faint of heart.” She teaches at the Art Garage and is currently an Artist in Residence at the Artisan Center. Her art appears in private collections and was licensed for use by a large nonprofit. She sells her notecards and paintings at several Wisconsin shops and galleries. Peters regularly takes classes with Midwest artists whose styles she admires.
