Treena Rice-Buehler, a contemporary oil painter, didn’t grow up in the 1950s or 1960s but has always found the innocent and idealized portrayal of life at that time fascinating. Inspired by vintage swimwear advertisements, travel posters, old family photographs, and her Midwestern roots, Treena’s aim is to evoke feelings of nostalgia for her audience.
Treena is a Wisconsin native and began oil painting after being gifted her first wooden box art set for Christmas at age ten. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Graphic Design.
She went on to freelance as an illustrator for various greeting card and paper product companies while moving around the country from the east coast to the west coast. In recent years, Treena has happily returned to her Wisconsin roots and her first love, oil painting. Treena considers herself a self-taught artist in oil painting.
She resides in Green Bay with her husband, two daughters, and one rambunctious puppy.
