The flowing watercolor embodies the same energy which formed the universe. Elements, which are the soul of water and earth, are present in the pigment and medium. The process of encouraging the flowing pigment to follow the forces of the water and sedimentation echoes the same processes that formed the geological phenomena on earth. Like the land that carried the story of its formation, my images capture the moment in motion. Often they are complete in themselves, but sometimes there is a vision. Like ancient cave painting, vague ghostlike suggestions of animals, humans or otherworldly forms beg to be enhanced so they too might be able to tell their story. Following the completion of the paintings, the search is begun to find indigenous myths, words, ideas which speak with the same voice. It is a magical and mystical pilgrimage revealing what was and what is.
