The Community Mosaic Project

July 15 - September 1, 2008

Opening Reception:  Friday, July 18 from 5 - 7pm

The Community Mosaic Project is a new outreach effort conceived by the FHCA, which focuses on encouraging a community-wide united arts effort that will perpetuate the growth and awareness of the arts in Door County, enhancing the visibility and importance of the arts to the small communities dotted throughout the peninsula.

The completed mosaic will be constructed of individual 6" x 6" stretched canvases that have been individually crafted by people of all skill levels and ages from professional artists, young people to school children and community members. The pieces can be explored in any media, stye, direction or concept appropriate for display. Each individual piece will be carefully selected and constructed into a large mosaic that will hang concurrently with the Collection Invitational and unveiled at the opening reception on Friday, July 18, 2008.

The individual canvases will be available for purchase by means of a "blind buy." Each piece of artwork will be assigned a number and individuals who wish to purchase a piece will select a number. At the conclusion of the exhibit, the artwork with the purchasers number will be packaged and shipped directly to them!

Everyone is encouraged to participate! For information about how to become involved or if you're interested in participating as a sponsor, please phone the FHCA at 920.854.2210.
