Discover
Door County's working artisans with an evening narrated trolley
tour to artist studios, many of which are nestled off the county's
main traveled roads. The Door Peninsula's distinctive arts community
boasts over 350 working artists and a diverse selection of galleries.
The
Art Studio Tour combines a unique view of artistic creations with
two special features. Guests will enjoy delectable hors d'oeuvres
and desserts at selected studios and a sampling of local cuisine
with a relaxing dinner at one of Northern Door County's most unique
restaurants.
Advance
reservations are required. The $75 per person (plus tax) price Includes
trolley transportation provided by Door
County Trolley, hors d'oeuvres, a cocktail, dinner, dessert

Introduction to Felting with Rosie Dittmann June

Farm Gallery

Local fiber artist Rosie Dittmann will share her artistry with wool
during a free public demonstration at the Whitefish Bay Farm Gallery
in rural Sturgeon Bay. The felting demonstration will offer the public
a rare chance to see this accomplished artist at work as well as a
glimpse into the process and creation of one-of-a-kind articles featuring
wool from the farm's flock of white and naturally colored Corriedale
sheep. |

Mosaic
Madness: Decorative Art for Indoors and Outdoors

Learn to master the exquisite technique of mosaic - the art of decoration
using small pieces of colored glass, stone or other materials - under
the creative guidance of master gardener and stained glass artist
extraordinaire Karin Overbeck. She will demonstrate the techniques
used in the creation of interior and exterior mosaics and will assist
participants in developing the necessary skills to create their own
gorgeous mosaics - planters, birdbaths, benches and wall hangings.

County Plein Air Festival July

The Door County Plein Air Festival celebrates the tradition of outdoor
painting with some of the finest painters from Door County and the
country. Over 35 artists will put brush to canvas, capturing the summer
light over the waters and fields of Door County. Painting from life
and the landscape has long been a Door County tradition, and one that
has endured evolving styles. This summer's painters bring a fresh
eye to the changing lights and colors, and a variety of styles that

The Francis Hardy Center
for the Arts' Door County Festival of the Arts will take place on
Saturday and
Sunday, August 9 & 10. Located along the waters of Sister Bay
and Ephraim in the heart of the Door
Peninsula the pristine shorelines and bluffs provide a breathtaking
backdrop for the event. The
festival features Door County's finest artists demonstrating their
skills, theatrical, literary and live
musical performances, cultural tours, culinary delights and hands-on
activities for the young and the
young at heart.
Admission to the festival is free and open to the general public.

Collector's
Choice

Stop in and delight your senses with the
colorful display of artwork in the 2008 Collection Invitational
Exhibition! Visitors to the exhibit will have the opportunity to
purchase works of art for their home or personal collections. Invitees
are asked to submit two works of art, one for display and one a
donation in which to support the nonprofit FHCA. The donated works
are prominently displayed and featured in a silent auction that
will run throughout the duration of the exhibit. This annual exhibit
is regarded as one of Door County's premier exhibitions for professional
artists. All proceeds generated from the event benefit FHCA educational
programming. |

Popelka Trenchard Glass is not normally
open to sit down demonstrations. However, the artists are working
often and their process can be viewed from beyond the hot shop during
normal hours of operation. Popelka Trenchard Glass does periodically
have an open studio and do allow large groups for pre-arranged presentations
for a fee. |
